What is a Regenerative Thermal Oxidiser?
A regenerative thermal oxidizer (RTO) is air pollution control equipment and is the most common technology today. RTOs destroy hazardous air pollutants (HAP), volatile organic compounds (VOC), and odorous emissions created during industrial processes. Applications include industrial processes like:

How the RTO Works
RTOs heat recovery of 95% is an industry standard, making it the lowest operating cost of all thermal oxidizer systems. Accomplishing this takes a series of steps, including:
- An RTO pushes a pollutant-filled airstream through the oxidizer.
- The airflow is controlled by valves directing the airstream into heat exchangers.
- Dirty air passes through the first two media beds, absorbs heat, and enters the combustion chamber, where VOCs and HAPs are oxidized into carbon dioxide and water vapor.
- Cooled, clean air is then released into the atmosphere.
